  • The Listening Program ® (TLP)
  • The Listening Program ® (TLP) utilizes psycho-acoustically filtered music to facilitate auditory processing, as well as increasing attention, improving body awareness, stimulating language and improving sensory processing skills. Movement Matters is a certified TLP provider.

  • DIR/Floortime ®
  • The Developmental, Individual Difference, Relationship-based (DIR®/Floortime™) Model is a developmental and interdisciplinary framework that helps clinicians, parents and educators conduct a comprehensive assessment and develop an intervention program tailored to the unique challenges and strengths of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other developmental challenges. The objectives of the DIR®/Floortime™ Model are to build healthy foundations for social, emotional, and intellectual capacities rather than focusing on skills and isolated behaviors.

  • Interactive Metronome (IM)
  • Interactive Metronome (IM) is a neuro-motor therapy leader that has changed clinical expectations by assisting patients in reaching greater functional gains in a shorter period of time. It is both a therapeutic and evaluation tool to determine levels of motor planning. It has been proven as an effective way to improve motor planning and sequencing for children. The IM program provides a structured, goal-oriented process that challenges the patient to synchronize a range of hand and foot exercises to a precise computer-generated reference tone heard through headphones. The patient attempts to match the rhythmic beat with repetitive motor actions. A patented auditory-visual guidance system provides immediate feedback measured in milliseconds, and a score is provided.

  • Yoga for the Special Child ®
  • Yoga for the Special Child ® is a comprehensive program of yoga techniques designed to enhance the natural development of children with special needs. These methods provide an effective treatment for children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder, Cerebral Palsey, Autism, and Learning Disabilities.

  • Infant Massage
  • Gentle and loving infant massage has many benefits for children, including: relaxation, improves muscle tones and circulation, stimulates brain development and promotes communication with parents.

  • Handwriting Without Tears ®
  • Handwriting Without Tears® aims to make legible and fluent handwriting an easy and automatic skill for all students. Our unique and compelling curriculum design and teaching strategies facilitate this goal. Here’s why the program works for all children:
    • Is easy to teach and easy to learn
    • Requires minimal preparation time
    • Gets results with just 15 minutes of handwriting instruction a day
    • Reduces need for one-on-one time and remediation
    • Uses unique strategies to teach good letter formation, spacing and neatness, and cursive connections

Community Services
Movement Matters is committed to helping to create a thriving neighborhood wherever we do business. This is a fundamental element of our company culture. We take pride in our role in the community. Movement Matters is very much at the heart of community life in Soho and Brooklyn, supporting those institutions and programs that make the communities we serve desirable places to live and work. Movement Matters is also a supporter of many nonprofit and charitable organizations. We offer free screenings to new patients in doctors' offices and in both of our clinics.

Movement Matters in Guatemala
Our clinicians went to volunteer in Guatemala in April 2011, offering therapy services to children with limb deformities and cleft palates and helping with the local communities. Follow our travel log on facebook or twitter.
